Life is full of challenges whether it is finance, relationships, work, conflict, or illness related. We desire many things but there are always challenges we must overcome to get what we want. Instead of giving up and being negative and thinking that we can’t achieve what we want, we need to change how we think and see how we can overcome the obstacles we face. Make the obstacle a challenge that will drive you forward rather than make you give up.
Jump over, Run around or climb over Your Challenges to Achieve Success
If it were not for challenges there would be no rich people. I suppose it separates the wheat from the chaff. Those who don’t try hard enough don’t get rewarded. Those who give up to easily don’t get rewarded. Those who see challenges as a way to work harder do get rewarded!
Face it there will always be challenges no matter what you do. When you want to achieve something and you come up against a challenge there are two things we can do. Push past the obstacle or give up. You have a choice. Remember you always have a choice.
Set your goals as achievable.
You must set attainable, realistic goals. The challenges that come up before you will be relative to the size of your goals. If you try and obtain something too big at the early stages you will find obstacles that are huge.
Here’s an example I always give.
If you wake up in the morning and say I want to run the marathon next week it might be too big a goal (it would be for me!). however what if you split it up and said the first thing I want to do is run 5k, then 10k, then 15k and build it up. The obstacle you may find at 20k is now more manageable as you are able to deal with it.
You must set goals to be successful. By setting goals you can see where you want to be (hint visualization is very important. Rather than just saying you want to do something be more concrete.. Having a goal and an end result will allow you to overcome obstacles easier. You will know why you are doing something when the going gets tough. Otherwise it is more difficult. My reason for my goals is to create a better life for me and my partner and my little girl. When the going gets tough I remember this.
Always Create Bite-Sized Goals
Break your goals down as illustrated above it makes everything easier. As you achieve your smaller goals you will feel more confident at succeeding at reaching the next level.
Remember the power of Affirmations and Positive Self-Talk
You must always remain positive and remember that using positive self talk and affirmations is very very important. We have so much negative self talk that we often talk our way out of success. Change how you think about yourself and the talk that goes on in your head. This will help you succeed and reach your goals.
